About the role
The medical-surgical unit cares for adults recovering from surgery and managing acute illness. The charge nurses on this unit are known for supporting new hires, and every nurse receives a structured orientation with a dedicated preceptor.
This is a full-time position on a three 12-hour shift schedule, with day and night options available. Weekend rotation is shared fairly across the team.
What you will do
- Assess patients, develop care plans and carry them out in line with physician orders
- Administer medications and treatments and document accurately in the electronic health record
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists and case management on discharge planning
- Educate patients and families about conditions, medications and follow-up care
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate promptly
What you bring
- Active Arizona RN license or a compact license valid in Arizona
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
- At least 1 year of acute care or medical-surgical experience
- Comfort with electronic health record systems
- Authorized to work in the United States
